Terms of Use
1. Agreeing to these terms
By using alhia.ai (the "Service") or creating an account you agree to these Terms and to the Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service. You must be at least 18.
2. What the Service is
Alhia displays (a) reports submitted by users, (b) information drawn from public sources such as PubMed, ClinicalTrials.gov, openFDA, DailyMed, RxNorm, NIH RePORTER and the CDC, and (c) illustrative example figures. Illustrative figures are labeled as such and are placeholders, not real measurements. Real and illustrative data are marked differently on the site; where they are not, please tell us.
User-submitted reports are unverified self-reports. They may be mistaken, incomplete, or unrepresentative, and they can't establish that a treatment works or is safe. A trial listed under "treatments to watch" is only a trial: being studied is not evidence that a treatment works or is safe, and it is not an invitation to seek it out outside of a trial.
3. Accounts
Accounts use an email address and an access token shown to you once. There is no password and no recovery flow: if you lose your token we can't restore access, and you may have to create a new account. Keep your token private. You're responsible for activity under it. You may delete your account at any time through the account tools.
4. What you may submit
When you contribute a report you confirm that it describes your own experience honestly and to the best of your knowledge. You agree not to submit:
- false, misleading, or spam reports, or multiple reports to skew results;
- another person's information, or identifying details about yourself or anyone else;
- links, advertising, or promotional text, or anything unlawful, harassing, or harmful;
- medical advice presented as fact to other readers.
We may flag, exclude, or delete reports for any of these reasons or if they appear to be abuse, and we may limit access for repeated violations.
You keep ownership of what you submit. You grant us a worldwide, royalty-free license to store it and to use it in anonymized, grouped statistics shown on the Service, as described in the Privacy Policy. Once a report is folded into aggregates it may not be possible to remove its effect from statistics already calculated, except that deleting your account with the "also delete my reports" option removes the reports themselves from future calculations.
5. Acceptable use
Don't attempt to break, overload, scrape at high volume, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or its data, and don't use it to harm others. Automated access beyond ordinary browsing may be rate limited or blocked. The public API is provided as-is for reasonable use.
6. Third-party content
Public-source data belongs to its respective sources and is subject to their terms. Links to ClinicalTrials.gov and other sites are provided for convenience; we're not responsible for their content.
7. No warranty
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, including accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability. Health information changes; data may be out of date or wrong.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Alhia and the people who operate it aren't liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any health outcome, loss, or injury arising from your use of or reliance on the Service. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that can't legally be excluded.
9. Changes and termination
We may change the Service or these Terms. If a change is material we'll update the date above. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept it. We may suspend or end access at any time, particularly for violations of these Terms.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable where the Service is operated, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where your local consumer law says otherwise.
